DPT and Proveris Scientific Host Joint Webinar on Obtaining the Right Data for Inhalation Products

SAN ANTONIO – DPT Laboratories, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), will host a new webinar in collaboration with Proveris Scientific on June 15 at 11 a.m. CST. Experts from both organizations will explain how pharmaceutical manufacturers ensure the right bioavailability and bioequivalence data is obtained for inhalation products in development. This one-hour webinar is the first in a series focused on providing practical and engaging educational information on drug development and manufacturing processes.

Development of inhaled therapeutics presents numerous challenges for researchers and commercial manufacturers. “Consider the risk to your development program of not accounting for patient variation in device handling,” said Dr. Charles Shaw, DPT’s senior manager of R&D. “In this webinar, we will explain how to develop the right actuation parameters for automated nasal spray and pMDI testing.”

DPT Labs and Proveris Scientific will highlight the Ergo™ system to demonstrate the development of accurate actuation parameters for automated spray pattern, plume geometry, shot weight, and droplet size distribution for in vitro studies. Key topics experts will discuss include:

  • The impact of actuation variance on bioavailability and bioequivalence
  • We all actuate different – Defining actuation parameters
  • Expected actuation outputs and capture methods
  • Automation and integration into your development program
  • Methods for testing and characterizing plumes of nasal sprays & pMDIs

“DPT has more than 70 years of experience in developing and manufacturing semisolids and liquids,” Shaw added. “This expertise is useful to our customers at various stages of drug development, so it’s important to share information that could potentially make their processes more efficient and effective.”
