Paul H. Johnson
Group President & COO
Paul Johnson graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. and received his M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. He began his career with Surgikos (Johnson & Johnson) from 1981 to 1985, and held various positions of increasing responsibility in Operations. After serving as General Manager of San Simeon from 1986 to 1989, he joined Johnson & Johnson Medical from 1990 to 1994 and helped establish a Contract Manufacturing organization. He was also a key player in developing the business plan used to enter the China market. Paul joined DPT in 1994 as Director of Logistics and was promoted to Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing in 1996. He led the acquisition of the Lakewood, New Jersey site and was promoted to General Manager in 2001 and President and COO in 2004. In June 2012 DPT was sold to Renaissance and Paul assumed the additional responsibility for Confab and was named Group President and COO.
Vice President, Research & Development
Kuljit Bhatia joined DPT in January, 2012 as Vice President, Research & Development. Kuljit has more than 15 years of pharmaceutical development experience and was previously Vice President of Research & Development and Technical Operations at Fougera Pharmaceuticals (formerly Nycomed) in Long Island, NY. Prior to joining Fougera he held senior R&D positions at Medicis Pharmaceuticals and Mylan Technologies Inc. Kuljit holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science from North Dakota State University, and conducted post doctorate studies in Pharmaceutics at the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and Controlled Release Society and has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Vice President, Human Resources
Rick Bentzinger joined DPT in July, 2010 as Vice President, Human Resources, after having spent over five years as the Vice President, Human Resources for Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), a top-tier academic medical center located in Portland, OR. With over 25 years human resources experience, Rick has worked with large, publicly traded companies and small privately held organizations in the healthcare, consumer goods and industrial and contract manufacturing sectors. Before joining OHSU in early 2005, Rick held the position of Vice President, Human Resources with Danaher Corporation at both the operating company and corporate levels from 2002 to 2005. From 1998 to 2002, he was the Vice President, Human Resources for Colfax Corporation, a sister company to Danaher. Rick received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA, and conducted graduate work in Clinical Psychology at St. Louis University.
Vice President & General Manager LW Site Operations
Gene Ciolfi joined DPT in July, 2001 as Director of project management and commercial operations. In 2008 he was promoted to General Manager of DPT’s Center of Excellence for Sterile and Specialty products in Lakewood, NJ and Vice President and General Manager of the sterile and specialty site in 2012. He has 24 years experience in the industry including serving as Manager of Contract Manufacturing at Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticals and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Gene shares DPT’s commitment to expand our position in the sterile and specialty market and has managed more than 40 million in expansion and upgrades at the NJ facility.
Senior Vice President, Operations
Mark Fite started with DPT in 2002 as the Director of Logistics for the DPT Lakewood Facility after leading the New Jersey team in production planning, warehouse operations and manufacturing, Mark relocated to San Antonio in 2004 as the Senior Director Site Operations where he oversaw the manufacturing operations for the San Antonio facility. Assuming his current role of Vice President of Operations in 2005, Mark has Operations responsibility for DPT manufacturing facilities in San Antonio Texas, Lakewood NJ and Curacao, Netherland Antilles. Prior to joining DPT, Mark worked for Keane Consulting as Client Engagement Manager specializing in business process improvement, Manufacturing Site Leader for The Body Shop plc. in West Sussex UK and Director of Manufacturing for Revlon. Mark graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing & Corporate Development
Paul Josephs earned a BS in Political Science from The University of Western Ontario in 1988. He joined DPT in 1997 after a very impressive and successful term as Senior Business Manager with Patheon, Inc where he held responsibility for leadership of the business development team. Prior to Patheon, Paul enjoyed an equally successful career as a Medical Sales Representative and Trade Marketing Manager with Marion Merrell Dow. He joined DPT as an Account Manager and rapidly progressed with increasing responsibilities, to Director, Strategic Business Unit. Paul was promoted to Vice President in 2001. In his role as Vice President, Paul has held responsibility for Sales, Project Management, Commercial Services and Marketing. In his current capacity he is responsible for Sales, Marketing and Corporate Development.
Vice President & General Manager. SA Site Operations
Lyle Flom graduated from the University of Texas, San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Association in Accounting. Lyle earned his CPA while at Ernst & Young where he worked primarily in the financial services industry, leaving as a Manager. Lyle joined DPT in 2001 and has held such positions as Director of Finance, Senior Director Site Operations and General Manager for the DPT San Antonio facility. Lyle was promoted to the position of Vice President Development and Commercial Services in 2009. Prior to joining DPT, Lyle worked as the Controller of FundAmerica, Director of SEC Accounting & Revenue for La Quinta and Client Services/Business Development Manager for Resources Connection.
Senior Vice President, Finance
Glenn Kues graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Accounting. Glenn is a Texas CPA and began his career with the international accounting firm KPMG where he left as a Senior Manager. Before joining DPT, Glenn worked for three privately held contract manufacturing businesses with responsibilities for finance, logistics and technology management. Glenn started with DPT in 1996 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Director of Logistics in 1998. In 2001 he was promoted to Vice President of Finance. In 2004 Glenn took over the responsibility of developing DPT’s Strategic Plan. He currently oversees Finance, Information Technology, Legal, and Purchasing for DPT.
Vice President, Quality Systems
Nick Walp graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Chemistry. After graduation Nick completed his Masters at the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. Nick is also recognized as a Registered Microbiologist by the American Society of Clinical pathologists and has completed additional management training at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Nick has worked with large publically traded companies and privately held organizations in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. He joined DPT in 2005 as Director of Quality Systems in Lakewood, NJ and in 2006 was promoted to Senior Director Specialized Operations. In 2007 Nick was promoted to Vice President, Quality Systems with responsibility for DPT’s Quality Systems in San Antonio Texas; Lakewood, NJ; and Curacao, Netherland Antilles.
